This past weekend I stopped into HGR, the local industrial surplus company in Northeast Cleveland. This place has industrial equipment from all over Ohio, unfortunately from plants closing down. Check out the pictures of all the machinery for sale…it’s enough to build one HELL of a workshop (and even a great new workbench!).

Places like these are like nothing I've ever seen before. Have to come back to the US some time. I mean, where on earth are you really able to walk in and take an industrial robot under your arm, pay whatever the price tag says and load it in your car? (By the way, did you see the price tag?)
Yes, you most definitely can purchase them. You just won’t be able to hold them under your arm (heavy!). Prices were about 4-5k

25 years ago the Dow was about 1200. It is currently about 9850. That is an 8.2 fold increase over 25 years. Works out to about 8.8% annual increase.
I know "hands off" free markets worked before the advent of big business and Industrial change, where has this free market fundamentalism worked since then.Keep in mind Reagan might have preached it, but the gov't was still very hands on with it's approach.
